About Us |
Since 2005 - 60+ Members The founding members gathered in a mostly respectable place that had not been raided in months to share their passion for older American cars. |

They liked to work on them, talk about them, and display them. Each knew a guy or two in Vallejo, California, where they grew up (we'll give them the benefit of the doubt here) who shared their interest. After some discussion and some beer, the idea of a club of like-minded lads evolved, a group that would promote the best interests of car restoration and their community. Like-minded, strong-willed, bonny lasses joined later. And thus, Boyz Under The Hood evolved from an idea to reality. |
| Since Jan, 2005, Boyz Under The Hood members have been active in shows and other community events throughout California and Nevada. The club has 60+ active members who own and work on approximately 90 classic American automobiles. Many in the group involve family members in restoration projects, events, and travel in behalf of the club. They display their vehicles and win awards in numerous shows and seldom miss an opportunity to serve their community as a group and individually. | |

Here is an image and Chip Carter's account of his meeting with Chip Foose:
At the big car show last weekend, I got a chance to meet Chip Foose. Chip is one of the most famous car builders in the world. He has the Overhaulin' show on tv. His show is not one of those where he yells at his crew all the time. He is also an artist and he draws what the car will look like after it is customized. He was looking at some of the cars on display when I saw him. I walked up to him and told him my name was Chip and asked him if he would sign my new tee shirt. He asked me if I wanted him to sign his name or mine. I told him to sign his because mine wasn't famous. Then I got a picture with him. Later he was in one of the buildings signing autographs and the line went around the building. |
